Luca’s Ristorante: Authentic Italian Dining in Somerset, NJ

BYOB is absolutely an incentive to dine in, especially given that there’s a liquor store next door if you don’t come prepared, however I found the food phenomenal as well. Was very quiet and must have been a slow night but I didn’t mind. Deducted a star for service for how long it took to be sat upon arrival despite not being busy.

This restaurant is what we were missing. I am from North Jersey and it’s tough to find solid Italian food around here. I am so happy we stumbled upon this place. We booked a reservation for Friday night and for my birthday no less. It really felt like a special occasion. We got the Fagioli soup, eggplant appetizer & the octopus appetizer - all were absolutely delicious. For our main, I got short rib gnocchi and my boyfriend got the short rib dinner - can I say WOW. Presentation and flavors blew us away. To top it off, a homemade tiramisu. Our waiter was the manager and he was so great. Awesome guy, he was engaged and proud to represent Lucas. This restaurant is 10 out of 5 stars!!!!! We will be back and will be bringing our family & friends. Thank you Matt for such a wonderful experience here.

Luca's Ristorante brings a refreshing elegance to classic Italian dining. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated-perfect for a romantic evening, a family gathering, or a relaxed dinner with friends. Soft lighting and attentive service set the tone for an experience that feels both comforting and refined. Definitely a place I would return to.

Had the most delicious dinner for a family celebration tonight! I tried the Pappardelle for the first time (strayed from my go-to the Valentino!) and it was absolutely incredible. We also tried the eggplant appetizer with some others and it was UNREAL. We always have the best food, service, and memorable time!

Four of us had lunch at Luca's at 1:00 on a Sunday afternoon. There were only a couple other tables with guests so the restaurant was very peaceful, low noise level. We were being very social and not in a hurry, and fortunately, the staff at Luca's couldn't have been more accommodating. They have us plenty of time to order, didn't rush us at all, let us sit there for what turned out to be over two hours as we chatted, ate, and drank our wine. Of the four of us, I was the only one who had not been there before, the other three recommended we eat here. And for good reason ... the food was very good. I had the Luca Seafood dish which was excellent. The scallops and shrimp were fresh and cooked to perfection, the asparagus also fresh and perfectly prepared, all on a bed of linguini with a creamy white wine sauce. I'm not I've got not finishing a meal but this was a plentiful portion and rich enough that a small portion made for an excellent snack the next day. The other three in our party all had the Pappardelle. This too was an excellent bowl of pasta with a good portion of burrata cheese to accompany the hearty bolognese sauce. For dessert we shared regular canoli and the special pistachio canoli. We preferred the regular. Luca's is BYO and has a dedicated free parking lot. Definitely worth a visit.

From the atmosphere to the service and food, Lucas was absolutely amazing. You can tell when an establishment cares about the ingredients that go into their food and Lucas does just that. The calamari was decadent the 800 bruschetta - absolutely delicious and flavorful. The Costata was so smooth, the meat melted off the bone. There was nothing we had that we didn’t love. I would whole heartedly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a cozy date night or catch up with friends. It’s intimate, the service was exceptional the kind you don’t just feel like another table. We will surely be back!

This place is amazing! The food is absolutely exceptional — so delicious and beautifully presented. You can tell they really put care into every dish. The service is professional but never rushed, which makes the whole meal feel relaxing and enjoyable. Even though they have wine on the menu, lunch is a great deal, and the portions are generous enough that you’ll probably have leftovers to take home. Perfect for a casual lunch or a midday treat. Everything about this spot feels high-quality without being stuffy. I’ll definitely be coming back — it’s one of those places where the food, service, and vibe all come together perfectly.

You don't expect this cute, intimate restaurant when you arrive at the strip mall, but when you walk in, you're transported. The food is amazing. We can't resist the bruschetta, and the calamari is fresh and crispy. The lamb is one of my favorites, but this time I had the Cannelloni and the brandy tomato cream sauce made my tongue dance. Three words: Chocolate. Hazelnut. Gelato. Smooth, rich, creamy, to die for. The service is always gracious and accommodating, but be aware that this is a leisurely meal. This restaurant is a treasure and we will return again and again.
